Earn Money Online From Home

October 7th, 2011 by waystobuy No comments »

If you’re looking to earn a living from home, setting up an online business from home could be the ideal way. But to do it, you’ll need plenty of talent, ambition, and commitment, along with an idea that sells and some startup money. If you can make it work, you’ll earn an income on your own hours without leaving the comforts of home.

First, the idea: Choose the product or service you’ll sell. Then do the research. Study the market and figure out whether there’s a place for your idea; do people really want it or need it? Get a read on the competition. Ask whether you can survive the ups and downs of a difficult enterprise. Remember, small businesses face long odds.

You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, though. Maybe you find a local item that’s hard to find elsewhere and resell it on eBay. But you need to make sure people want what you’re offering, can’t find it somewhere else, or can’t find it somewhere else for less. Write a business plan, whether or not you think anyone else will see it.

Once you’ve done the market research and crafted your plan, find out whether there are any zoning or licensing rules you must meet, and whether insurance is a good idea. This may be where you have to start spending some startup money.

Next, you may need to spend again, depending on what kind of business you’re starting. Necessities may include supplies, computer equipment and software, a home office setup, and legal or accountant services if applicable. Budget conservatively, because you can’t count on your home businesses being profitable anytime soon.

Do all this and you’ve just gotten started. You still have to do the heavy lifting, but if you have a smart idea, skill, and commitment, and you’re ready to expend a lot of time and effort to get it all off the ground, you may be able to set yourself up with an income and work from home.

Earn Money Online As A Translator

October 7th, 2011 by waystobuy No comments »

Self-employed workers now make up more than a quarter of the work force among translators and interpreters in the United States, and many of them are independent contractors who work from home. If you’re fluent in a second language, written or spoken, and you’re looking for work you can do from home, a job as a translator or interpreter might be right for you, too. It’s a career that provides flexibility, and there’s a lot of growth in the field.

You could translate documents online, interpret over the phone, or both, if you’re qualified. Interpreting requires that you listen to other people speak, so openings for home-based interpreter jobs are naturally harder to find compared to those for home-based translators.

You need to be fluent in at least two languages (including your own), you need a high-speed Internet connection (and phone equipment if you’re going to work as an interpreter), you need an eye or ear for detail, and you need strong analytical skills, among other job requirements. Many assignments also require a bachelor’s degree, along with prior experience as a translator or interpreter.

Your earnings will depend on the number of languages you’re able to translate or interpret, the languages you can work with, and any areas of expertise you have, such as medicine or business. Middle Eastern, East Asian and the major Western European languages are in the highest demand.

With the right skills and enough work, it’s possible to earn a middle-class salary. But like many independent contractors in the field, you likely will need to supplement your income with other jobs.

There are a number of Web sites that connect freelance interpreters and translators with work they can do from home. Telelanguage.com, for example, hires telephone interpreters. Elance, Guru.com and other general freelancer sites offer job postings for translation assignments. The American Translators Association, at ATAnet.org, provides certification exams in 24 languages.

Ways To Make Money Online

If you’re looking to make a living from home, using the Internet, setting up an online business may be the way to go. You’ll need drive, talent, an idea that can bring in customers, and some seed money, but you can work on something that matters to you while staying close to your family and working on your own schedule.

Step one: The idea, or the product or service you’re going to sell. Once you have a sense of what it is, you’re going to have to study the market and determine whether people need or want it; gauge the competition; and ask yourself whether you really have what it takes to stay at it for the long haul. Remember, any small business faces an uphill slog from the start.

Your idea doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel. For example, maybe you just buy a certain hard-to-find item locally and resell it on eBay. But whatever it is, it has to be something people want, something they can’t get anywhere else, or something they can’t get anywhere else for such a good deal. Draft a business plan, even if no one else will see it.

Next, check to see whether you have to meet any local or state licensing or zoning requirements, and decide whether insurance is a good idea. You may have to start spending some money here.

And now you may have to spend more, though how much will vary on the nature of your business: supplies, necessary computer equipment and software, a home office setup, and accountant or legal services if necessary. Budget carefully, since your business probably won’t make a profit anytime soon.

This is just the prep work. The heavy lifting is still to come. But with a smart concept, skill, dedication, and the willingness to expend the time and sweat it takes to make a small business work, you could build a means for earning an income without leaving the things you care about most.

Profit With Onine Surveys

September 28th, 2011 by waystobuy No comments »

It won’t earn you a livable salary, and it certainly won’t make you rich. But online surveys are one way you can help pay your bills online without leaving the comforts of your home. All you need is a computer, an Internet connection and an opinion on pretty much anything from potato chips to fine wines.

When you’re new to it, it can be time-consuming work relative to the money you earn. But once you get the hang of it and learn how to play the game by using many survey sites at once, it shouldn’t be hard to draw in some decent cash.

First you need to figure out which are the reputable survey sites and which are the scammers. As a rule, sites that require money can’t be trusted with it; there are plenty of good free sites out there that will send cash in the other direction.

Then choose between cash, other types of payment, or both. A lot of sites use gift cards, shopping rewards points or entries in sweepstakes drawings to pay survey takers. That’s fine if you’re OK with it, but if you’re looking to supplement your income directly, find sites that offer cash.

SurveySpot, Opinion Outpost and Toluna are among the most reputable sites out there. You’ll earn $1 to $2 for most cash-paying surveys at SurveySpot (many of its surveys use rewards points instead), though technically you can earn up to $20. Opinion Outpost pays $1 for every 10 points you earn. Toluna offers $20 for every 60,000 points.

Do your research, compile a long list, and then sign up for everything. It’s important to spread yourself thin, because you’ll have to pre-qualify for most individual surveys, and in many cases you’ll fail. So the more surveys you have coming your way every day, the more surveys you’ll qualify for and the more money you’ll make.

The final step is the obvious one: Take the surveys. Most of them will arrive in your inbox, but you’ll have to check some sites on your own. Surveys can take a few minutes of your time, or an hour or more. Generally speaking, the longer they are, the more you earn. Don’t skimp, but don’t linger, since you probably have another survey waiting.

Make Money With Your Blog

September 28th, 2011 by waystobuy No comments »

If you want a way to earn off the Internet from the comforts of your home, affiliate marketing is one of your simplest choices, and it’s definitely one of the cheapest. In fact, it’s free.

The only thing you have to do is publish your blog or Web site (known as an affiliate site) and let online companies display their ads on your pages. They get widespread advertising, and in return you get paid every time you generate business for them.

There are several options for Web publishers interested in earning money as affiliates. First there are in-house affiliate programs offered by businesses such as Amazon.com and eBay. Then there are affiliate networks, such as ClickBank, that match affiliate sites and advertisers. And finally there are programs such as Google AdSense, where a third-party company (in this case Google) pays affiliates to carry the ads of other businesses.

In-house affiliate programs are available from some of the largest companies on the Internet. Amazon’s program is almost as old as the business itself, and it had much to do with the company’s growth. The Partner Network at eBay is another popular example of an in-house affiliate marketing program.

Programs like Google AdSense place ads for a variety of businesses on affiliate sites. AdSense and programs like it use Web technology to target the users who visit affiliates’ sites with ads tailored for their individual tastes. AdSense, for instance, takes into consideration a user’s location and the content of the affiliate’s site when choosing ads for the user.

With affiliate networks such as ClickBank, you can choose for yourself which products to advertise on your affiliate site. This means you’ll have to research the products and make sure they match the content of your site so visitors will find them relevant, but you can sometimes collect higher payouts this way.

Most programs pay via one of two systems: pay-per-click or pay-per-impression. With pay-per-click, you get paid based on the number of times visitors click on ads. With pay-per-impression, you get paid based on the number of times ads appear on your visitors’ screens. How much you make depends on the kind of affiliate program you use, your site content and how much effort you put into your site, among other factors.
